The magic of Visual Story Telling in Theatre and Cinema always intrigued Satyajeet. After securing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering he entered the world that always mesmerised him. He began his journey with several short films as a cinematographer and then secured admission into the prestigious Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. The post graduate course in Cinematography further horned his skills and catapulted his rigour and understanding of the medium.
His debut film as a cinematographer "Lathe Joshi" received huge accolades including the "The Best Cinematographer" award at The Pune International Film Festival, 2016. The film went on to receive several awards at National and International Film Festivals.
His recent film "Aatmapamphlet" was the official entry in completion section of the Berlin International Film Festival 2023. Satyajeet was also nominated under the Best Cinematography category at The Zee Gaurav Film Awards, The Ma. Ta. Sanman Award and the Filmfare Award for the same in 2023.
Satyajeet’s body of work includes 9 feature films and 2 web series. His recent work "Manvat Murders" (on SonyLiv) featuring Ashutosh Gowariker, Sonali Kulkarni , Sai Tamhankar and Makrand Anaspure has been acclaimed both by the audience and the critics. The wide gamut of his work and the host of talented directors he has collaborated with, have enabled him to develop his craft. Satyajeet’s interest in Lights has also taken him into the realms of Light Designing on Theatre which again was applauded by audiences and the critics.
Satyajeet also has a peculiar interest in the space of Academics and has been keenly involved with the art of Facilitation teaching subjects from Film Making and Mass Communication across institutes like FTII, Pune University and MGM University.
